What Is This Blog About?

On January 1st 2010 I started posting one original painting or drawing a day for an entire year. Mixing my love of Fly Fishing with my Painting, the posts are centered around the subject of flies, fish, and the art of Fly Fishing. On December 31 2010 my mission ended but my love of catching fish and painting them lives on. So this blog lives on even if the posts are not updated daily. Fly Fishing Art with Fishing reports and Gear reviews, this blog is your source for all things fishy.

If you enjoy fly fishing and the art of the fly or fly tying, I hope you enjoy this blog. Most of the paintings posted here are for sale as well as the Fish Prints so if you are interested in any of the art here please Email me at jmdjdejong@gmail.com for details or just visit the BUY A FISH PRINT page.

WoodBurning Fly

Here is a wood burning I did yesterday of a fly.  The fly is burned onto the end of a rod case I have working on for a friend and I think It added just the right touch to the end of a great looking case.  It is just about complete and I will be sharing it with you when it is ready, but for now, this is all you get.

I also just got my new business cards in the mail the other day.  I have been sending out so many paintings and prints lately that I thought it was about time to get some cards printed up.  I used my Iron Blue Wingless fly from earlier this year as the work of art and I think it really works.

Great wood art. I really like the business cards too.

It truly does add something special to the rod case.

Very nice.

Thanks guys. I only need to do a bit of sanding, add a leather handle, and varnish it. Labor intensive building it but still enjoyable. I'll post pic of the finished product when its complete.
