What Is This Blog About?
On January 1st 2010 I started posting one original painting or drawing a day for an entire year. Mixing my love of Fly Fishing with my Painting, the posts are centered around the subject of flies, fish, and the art of Fly Fishing. On December 31 2010 my mission ended but my love of catching fish and painting them lives on. So this blog lives on even if the posts are not updated daily. Fly Fishing Art with Fishing reports and Gear reviews, this blog is your source for all things fishy.
If you enjoy fly fishing and the art of the fly or fly tying, I hope you enjoy this blog. Most of the paintings posted here are for sale as well as the Fish Prints so if you are interested in any of the art here please Email me at jmdjdejong@gmail.com for details or just visit the BUY A FISH PRINT page.

Angry Trout
I haven't been posting much over the past month, nor have I been out in the river, so the other day I put down a bit of paint on some paper in an effort to compensate for the lack of fishing. A spastic painting I call Angry Trout that is a 10x7 watercolor. This is a bit out of my norm but thought I'd do something different.

Spastic - perhaps. I am a fan of this one.

A superhero who fights invasive species and habitat degredation. Thanks for the dream.
That painting is great. That looks like one of the fish that missed my fly the other day and missed out on a photo op. He was pissed:)
Maybe reflects your feeling instead of the fishes?
Speaks your mindset perfectly! I havent had the time I require on the water as of late and I am not all that fun to be around right now in the normal day to day doings.. so they say...
sorry guys!
Joel, no need to feel bad, that's called life. I've looked through most if not all of the blog...haven't seen a bad painting yet.
Thanks for all the comments. I am looking forward to getting back on the water soon. I also have a small window of opportunity to fish in Traverse City Michigan in June. Hopefully I can put that angry trout down.
I like it. Has a bit of a Japanese cartoon look to it.
